The bachelor's thesis titled Correlation between the Popularity of the ANO Brand in the Moravian-Silesian Region and the Success of Elected Mayor Tomáš Macura in the 2022 Municipal Elections is dedicated to a case study of Tomáš Macura within the framework of municipal politics in Ostrava. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the terms associated with brand, branding, political brand, and personal political brand. It is followed by a chapter on the socio-political context, where the work summarizes the ANO 2011 party's results at different political levels, with a specific focus on the Ostrava region. This chapter also addresses the rise of the ANO 2011 party, along with its history. A subsequent subsection is dedicated directly to Tomáš Macura and his political career. In the analytical part, the thesis delves into the analysis of internal party research and the media visibility of Tomáš Macura prior to the 2022 municipal elections. The result of the study reveals that both parties - Tomáš Macura and the political party ANO 2011 - benefited from their coexistence, thus creating a symbiotic relationship between them.

Analysis of the implementation of election programs of political parties in the Czech Republic in the period 2018-2021
Žižková, Silvie ; Stauber, Jakub (advisor) ; Hájek, Lukáš (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the degree of fulfilment of verifiable promises from the election programmes presented to the Czech citizens in the 2017 elections to the Chamber of Deputies. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the rate of fulfilment of promises by all political parties that entered the parliament in 2017. The analysis examines the rate of fulfilment of promises in the last completed electoral period, i.e. between 2018-2021, when the second government of Andrej Babiš was in power. The aim of the paper is to present the results of the analysis to the readers and to find out the different rates of fulfillment of the coalition and opposition parties. The results of the analysis have shown that in the Czech environment, coalition parties do not fulfil fundamentally more promises than opposition parties. The highest rate of fulfilment of promises was shown for the ANO party, which held the prime minister's seat at the time of the mandate and fulfilled 42% of the testable promises. However, the opposition party, Starostové a nezávislí (the Mayors and Independents), had the second highest rate of promise fulfilment with 41 %. The coalition fulfilled 41% of the promises and the opposition fulfilled 28% of the promises overall, with the results affected by the SPD's zero fulfilment rate. The...
Comparison of Czech and Slovak Personal Parties
Malý, Michal ; Mlejnek, Josef (advisor) ; Perottino, Michel (referee)
This thesis deals with one of the phenomena of the personalization of politics, personal parties. Personnel parties are not particularly scrutinized in current political science discourse. However, it can be assumed that the phenomenon of personalization will increasingly permeate the political environment. Therefore, the goal of this work is to fill this empty gap and analyze selected Czech and Slovak personnel parties in a mutual comparison. The choice of countries is by no means random. The Czech and Slovak Republics were still one country until 1992, so it will be interesting to see if the parties in both countries develop differently. The ANO and SPD movements will be analyzed from the Czech sides, and the SME RODINA and OLANO movements from the Slovak sides. The movement was chosen because it has successfully passed at least two elections and is still active in the parliament of both countries. Movements will be explored from different perspectives. The first perspective will be the position of leader within the party, where a strong to dominant position is assumed. In the second part, the analysis will focus on the stability of the parties from the external and internal parts, and the last part will examine whether there is a fixed programmatic position for the personnel parties. The goal of...
The attitude of the Czech populist parties towards the European Union during the coronavirus crisis
Koryntová, Eva ; Kubát, Michal (advisor) ; Mejstřík, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the approach of Czech populist political entities, the ANO 2011 movement, the Freedom and Direct Democracy movement (SPD) and the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSČM) to the European Union (EU) in connection with the coronavirus crisis. These parties are examined by discursive analysis based on debates of its members in the lower house of the Parliament of the Czech Republic - the Chamber of Deputies. The thesis revealed that despite the Eurosceptic nature of all examined parties, their approach to the EU was not the same. The parties that were in the reviewed period in the opposition, the SPD movement, and KSČM - were critical to the EU at almost all examined points. They asked the government to act at the national level and used nearly identical arguments. The ANO government movement had more moderate rhetoric toward the EU, and in some cases, it even positioned itself as a defender of the EU policies. The only person criticizing the EU in the ANO movement turned out to be Andrej Babiš, whose statements toward the EU became more and more acute with the upcoming elections to the Chamber of Deputies.
The success rate of implementing voting programs by the government parties in the years 2018-2021
Regner, Jakub ; Hájek, Lukáš (advisor) ; Perottino, Michel (referee)
This bachelor thesis aims to determine to what extent the governing parties ANO and ČSSD managed to fulfil their 2017 election programmes during the 2018-2021 electoral period. From the text of the election programmes, pledges were identified through content analysis, and each pledge was assigned to a category according to a thematic area. The results of the research showed that the ANO movement managed to fulfil 55% of all testable promises, while the ČSSD fulfilled only 36% of the promises from its election programme. The results also confirm the hypothesis based on the theoretical assumption of the functioning of the party mandate model in developed democracies, where holding the prime minister's seat leads to a higher rate of fulfilment of the electoral programme. It is this positive effect that has not been confirmed in the cases of previous elections. The paper identifies the covid-19 pandemic as one of the external factors that could have significantly affected the number of promises fulfilled.
Comparison of the French Movement La République en Marche en the Czech Movement ANO 2011
Matoušková, Renáta ; Perottino, Michel (advisor) ; Šárovec, Daniel (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with a comparative analysis of two European movements, the French movement La République En Marche and the Czech movement ANO 2011, which in 2017 won the elections to the upper chambers of parliaments. Both entities present themselves as pro-European, centrist movements that seek the favor of all citizens regardless of their ideological beliefs. The work will deal with similarities and differences in movements in terms of their emergence and subsequent development, party organization structure, program for elections in 2017 and marketing during campaigns along with funding and the role of founders within movements. On the basis of obtained information, a comparative analysis will be carried out,. During the analysis, it is important to take into account the legislative and political systems in both countries, which can have a major impact on the behavior and structure of movements. The conclusion of the thesis then offers a final analysis of individual researches that either confirm or refute the thesis-hypothesis

I tried to find the answers using the method content analysis of political, government and election programs, and other party documents.
New forms of voter persuasion: analysis of the political communication of the ANO 2011 and SPD on social networks
Marková, Marie ; Brunclík, Miloš (advisor) ; Perottino, Michel (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on the analysis of the political communication of two politicians in the Czech Republic: from the "ANO 2011" was chosen Andrej Babiš, and for the "SPD" was chosen, Tomio Okamura. The communication of selected politicians was examined on the social network "Facebook", which is the most commonly used social network among Czech politicians. The above-mentioned politicians use the new internet platforms relatively more than other politicians. Therefore, the author of this diploma thesis assumes that there will be in their communication present some new forms of political communication. Based on the defined criteria, which arose from the theoretical part of the thesis, a detailed analysis of the political communication of both politicians is performed and then compared. The political communication was examined based on the content of posts, the sound of shared posts, the form of the communication, the relevance of the shared messages, and the argumentation strategy. The shared posts were also assessed whether they are populist and if there are elements of personalization in the communication of Andrej Babiš and Tomio Okamura. This work aims to find out whether the elements defined above are used in the Facebook communication of the above-mentioned politicians.
